Los Alamos Artist Fran Bergstein Will Show At Rio Grande Art Association Juried Exhibit

Los Alamos artist Fran Bergstein has had a painting accepted by the Rio Grande Art Association’s 12th annual juried painting and sales exhibition. The exhibition features 114 paintings by artists working in a variety of styles and media.

In honor of all veterans and Native American Heritage Month, Jemez Springs Public Library is pleased to present a talk by author Judith Avila and Latham Nez, grandson of the last code talker, Chester Nez who passed away in June this year.

The event is 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15 at Jemez Springs Presbyterian Church.

Museum Of Indian Arts And Culture Awarded $105,000 Grant

MIAC News: 

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded $105,000 to the Museum of New Mexico Foundation on behalf of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, to benefit the Museum’s archaeological collections.

The museum will use these grant funds to improve access to key artifacts that are part of the founding collections of the Laboratory of Anthropology (LOA), allowing the Museum to move the H.P. Mera Ceramic Survey Collection to the new repository at the Center for New Mexico Archaeology (CNMA), along with the other comparative and archaeological type collections.   Read More

The Millicent Rogers Museum, located in Taos, is pleased to announce the largest group of donations and acquisitions to its permanent collection in more than two decades.

The gifts and purchases follow on the heels of the recent major gift of nearly 50 paintings by Taos Pueblo artists presented earlier this year by Brad and Fran Taylor.
