Downtown Los Alamos Looks A Lot Like Halloween As LAAC Launches Annual Scarecrow Contest

Jack the Pumpkin King from the movie, ‘Nightmare before Christmas,’ pays a visit to Los Alamos. Community’s Creativity Essential To Scarecrow Contest And Pumpkin Glow Event

To ensure the success of the Los Alamos Arts Council’s (LAAC) two upcoming events, the organization needs the community’s help.

The public’s creativity and artistic capabilities are essential to the annual scarecrow contest and Pumpkin Glow since both events showcase the community’s handiwork.

White Rock Fall Festival 10 a.m. To 2 p.m. Saturday

COMMUNITY News:

The community is cordially invited to the White Rock Fall Festival; this is two great events in one location.

Stop by the pumpkin patch sponsored by Pinon Elementary’s PTO for all the usual pumpkin patch festivities. There will be face painting, a hay maze, carnival games, food vendors and more. Be sure to stop by the bake sale or try to win a baked good at the cakewalk. Then, head to the Chamisa Elementary Arts and Crafts fair inside the Pinon gymnasium. Get a head start on holiday shopping and for $15, have a picture taken with Santa.

Learn To Make Tea Cup Bird Feeders With Joyce Zaugg At Los Alamos Garden Club Meeting Oct. 20

LAGC News:

Members of the Los Alamos Garden Club will gather for their monthly meeting Oct. 20 at the Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road.

Social time and ingathering activity begins at 9:30 am. Joyce Zaugg will lead the group in making tea cup bird feeders. All materials for this activity will be provided. The business meeting starts at 10 a.m.

This month’s program is Holiday Craft, also led by Zaugg. The garden themed project will be napkin holders/ornaments.
