Los Alamos is blessed with a group of history enthusiasts, both amateur and professional, who devote countless hours to researching and understanding the stories that have shaped our community.

Two of those professionals, Sharon Snyder and Heather McClenahan, will be featured at Mesa Public Library’s Authors Speak talk at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.

Rail Runner Hosts In Transit Book Club’s Author Series

If you commute on the Rio Metro Regional Transit in Albuquerque, New Mexico, you’ll be excited to hear about the upcoming “Author Event Series” as part of New Mexico Rail Runner’s In Transit Book Club in collaboration with Upland Avenue Publishing Group. The upcoming events are as follows:

Los Alamos Little Theatre presents Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Nov. 1 through Nov. 22. The play opens Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31.

NMSA Hosts School’s Art Show ‘Birch’

New Mexico School for the Arts is hosting a third rendition of Birch, the school’s unique art show featuring anonymous art for sale, created by NMSA Visual Art students as well as renowned New Mexico artists. All pieces start at $99!

Authors Speak Series Presents Special Reading Of Young Adult Fiction

Gail Strickland, a scholar of classics and long-time resident of Northern California, has scheduled three appearances in Los Alamos Monday. She will talk with students at the Los Alamos Middle School and Los Alamos High School in the morning, and 3:30 p.m. at Mesa Public Library.

At each appearance, Strickland will discuss her creative process, the factual relationship of her book to the historical record, and Greek mythology.

Artist Lisa Coddington Returns To PEEC To Teach Drawing Animals Workshop

PEEC is very fortunate to welcome back talented artist Lisa Coddington, who will teach a workshop about using simple drawing materials to portray furry, feathery and slimy animals.

The class is 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at PEEC and includes a 30-minute break for lunch. The workshop is suggested for beginner and intermediate levels.
