This year’s Los Alamos Artists Studio Tour is underway and local artists are welcoming community members to their studios from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday.

Socorro woodworker Olaf Heintz will bring his work to Los Alamos for the first time at the Fuller Lodge Art Center Fall Arts & Crafts Fair next weekend.

Heintz’s wife specializes in textiles and together they formed their business “Wood-n-Fibers,” specializing in original design woodwork and weaving. Heintz, who exhibits at Socorro County Arts’ Alamo Mercantile and Gallery, is excited to share his work with the Los Alamos community.

Two Upcoming Theater Productions At NMSA

New Mexico School for the Arts Theater Department is opening its 2014-15 season in October with the performance of “The Shakespeare Project,” and will conclude the month with the exciting and challenging production of Lillian Hellman’s “The Children’s Hour.”

Oct. 9, 10 and 11, the Theater Department will produce “The Shakespeare Project.” This compilation of Shakespeare scenes, soliloquies and sonnets adapted by James Zager was directed by department chair Joey A. Chavez.
