Pet of the Week: Gracie the Cocker Spaniel

SHELTER News:

Gracie is a senior female cocker spaniel who was rescued off the street and brought back to health by a good neighbor.

Los Alamos County and Friends of the Shelter have completed Gracie’s health treatments. She would be a good companion for a quiet family.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, (505) 662-8179, has a large selection of on-site adoptable pets and others are living off-campus in foster homes.

New Mexico is bracing for colder temperatures during the next few days with the possibility that many areas of the state will experience temperatures in the below the 20 degree mark- during the night time hours. Many areas of the state face a hard freeze.

Cindy Eaton to Chair Relay For Life

The American Cancer Society has selected Cindy Eaton to serve as Event Chair for the 2013 Relay For Life® of Los Alamos.

Eaton was selected because of her past experience on the Relay committee. She was the event chair a couple of years ago, and has a great working knowledge of the event.

Some 50 people turned out for the League of Women Voters of Los Alamos and the American Association of University Women’s annual legislative preview in Fuller Lodge Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Los Alamos legislators including Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard and Senators Carlos Cisneros and Richard Martinez shared their views on the upcoming session.

Lippiatt incited a bidding frenzy over a New Mexico Magazine Calendar, escalating the final bid tendered by Rotarian James Chrobocinski of Zia Realty Group to $26.
