Los Alamos Golf Course & Bee City Partner To Seed Designated Pollinator Areas At Golf Course

The Los Alamos County Golf Course and Bee City Los Alamos have partnered together to establish designated pollinator areas within specified rough areas of the course. Two locations have been identified, one on the front nine in the “Bermuda Triangle” of holes 1, 3, and 4, and the large area between holes 12 and 13 on the back nine.

A creative new idea has emerged from discussions with Los Alamos County Council, the Transportation Board and public feedback: a pilot program with Atomic City Transit (ACT) known as MyRide, which kicked off Aug. 2 and will continue until 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25.

LAHS Jazz Band Selected As State Honor Jazz Band

Los Alamos Public Schools is pleased to announce that the Los Alamos High School Jazz I has been selected as the 2026 New Mexico Music Educators Association (NMMEA) State Honor Jazz Band. The band will perform at the 2026 All-State Music Conference Jan. 14, 2026, in Popejoy Hall.

The LAHS jazz band is one of six honor ensembles selected. The other ensembles represent band, choir, general music, orchestra and percussion.

Los Alamos Police Arrest Woman In Vehicle Theft Case

LAPD News:

At approximately 9:15 a.m. today, Aug. 20, 2025, a female suspect stole a Los Alamos County vehicle from the area of Ashley Pond. Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) officers began canvassing the community in search of the stolen vehicle.

Approximately 90 minutes after the initial call, a Bandelier National Monument Park Ranger located the vehicle unoccupied at the White Rock Library. Responding officers initiated a search of the area and located the female suspect inside the women’s restroom of the library.
