A scene from a recent gathering of the Laboratory Retiree Group (LRG). The group held its annual meeting on Friday at the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center. The LRG is a non-profit organization that seeks to maintain communications with and to serve the needs and interests of all retirees from LANL. All Los Alamos National Laboratory retirees (and potential retirees) are invited to drop in at the group’s meetings, between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, typically held at Muy Salsas at 1315 Trinity Drive. Los Alamos, Española and Santa Fe Chambers of Commerce hosted a tri-chamber regional networking breakfast Thursday morning at the Cities Of Gold Casino. Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Director Sandy Jones said she believes this is the first meeting all three chambers have hosted. The purpose of the breakfast is for nonprofits, businesses, and government officials to network and, hopefully, expand their businesses and contacts, she said. Maintenance and repair work at the Los Alamos County Golf Course building has been completed, marking a significant step toward reopening the restaurant to the public.
The restaurant is expected to begin operations on June 1, 2026; however, this date remains contingent upon final inspections and permits.

The Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting its monthly Cowboy Breakfast this Sunday, May 3.
The breakfast is served 7-11 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge at 650 North Mesa Road, near the North Mesa Stables.
