‘Meetup’ at Dixie Girl Every Friday Night

Several people gathered Friday night for a ‘Meetup’ event during Happy Hour at the Dixie Girl, 1789 Central Ave. Community members are invited to join the group or simply drop in around 5:30 p.m. each Friday, during which time the restaurant bar will offer $3 beers, $5 well drinks, $7 martinis, peel and eat shrimp, oysters on the half shell and other bar food. Topper Revue Opens Today!

The Los Alamos High School Olions will kick off the 2013 Topper Revue at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Duane Smith Auditorium.

Topper Revue is the annual talent and variety show at the high school. Topper Revue showcases the talents of student performers in a madcap variety show atmosphere.

We’ve all wondered what inspired a particular work of art. Or maybe we’re curious about the process that an artist used to create a particular piece.

Pajarito Mountain Beer and Band Resumes Saturday

The popular Pajarito Mountain Beer and Band is back! The next event will be held noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area.

The beer will be offered by the Santa Fe Brewing Company and from 3-5 p.m., the Squash Blossom Boys from Albuquerque will provide the music.

Atomic City Transit is providing a new bus service to Pajarito Mountain with the last bus going down Saturday at 5:20 p.m. so people can enjoy the show and get a ride home.

This is the final in a series of Beau Gerard’s Piano Recitals and Compositions hosted by Los Alamos Friends. Gerard is back from the first round of eliminations for America’s Got Talent and is expected to make it to round II.

Jazz Night came back to the Blue Window Bistro Saturday night when a full house enjoyed the Tom Rheam Trio from Santa Fe.

The Blue Window is a great place to hear jazz. The lights are low, the space is intimate and the conversations are muted during the music.
