This nonvenomous gopher snake was found March 30 by a water spigot. It hatched out late last year and will be relocated to a safe backyard within the appropriate relocation range—1/8 to 1/4 of a mile. Too far a distance and not the same ecosystem or environment could mean death for the snake.
Not every snake needs to be relocated. However, if you have a rattlesnake or are uncomfortable with a non-venomous snake in your area, please call the police dispatcher 505.662.8222 and ask for someone on their list who relocates. Read More
