Jointly Reported Facts Are Mightier Than ‘Bipartisan’ 

We live in times of zealous palaver about being “bipartisan” and “working together.” Exactly what these words include is unclear. In times past, New Mexico Citizens for Clean Air & Water pursued ideas of our own that might qualify. Our goal was simpler and mightier than “bipartisan” or “working together.” We found mutual ways of telling missing parts of the whole story.

Four Stops, One Iconic Road: Route 66 Exhibit Brings History To Life In New Mexico Starting April 25

ALBUQUERQUE — In celebration of both the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and America’s 250th birthday, the “Route 66 Centennial Traveling Exhibit” (“Exhibit”) will bring the history, stories and images of the Mother Road to life across New Mexico.

The free Exhibit features nearly two dozen large-scale interpretive panels, audiovisual mini-documentaries, and educational components highlighting the diverse stories of New Mexicans connected by Route 66.

A plan for County-wide electric vehicle (EV) chargers was adopted March 17 during the Los Alamos County Council work session.

Having this blueprint in place for where to install EV chargers is another step forward to reaching the County’s goal of being carbon neutral.

Wildfire Update: Unified Fire In Valencia County March 26

Highlights: Yesterday, fire crews were able to extinguish interior smoke and widen and improve control lines across the four divisions of the Unified Fire, raising containment to 25%. More accurate mapping downsized the fire’s acreage to 300 acres.  

Acres: 300.  

Containment: 25% contained.      

Start Date/Time: 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24. 

Fuels: Grass, brush, timber and timber understory. 

Cause: Under investigation.

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest’s (SFNF) Jemez and Cuba Ranger Districts announce that some roads will reopen to public motorized access Friday, March 27, following their annual seasonal closure.
