SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials Thursday announced 273 additional COVID-19 cases.
Los Alamos County reports zero new cases so the total remains 546 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 2 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 71 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 10 new cases in Chaves County
- 2 new cases in Cibola County
- 7 new cases in Curry

The community is invited to join the Memory Care Alliance for its July “Alliance Cafe”, 2-3 p.m. Friday, July 30 at the Unitarian Church, 107 W. Barcelona in Santa Fe.
The Memory Care Alliance monthly “Alliance Cafe” is now held the LAST Friday of every month. This is to avoid confusion that the last Friday can either be a fourth or fifth Friday.

I first met Paula and her husband, Gary, when they were participants in the very first caregiving class I taught while employed at the Alzheimer’s Association.
Paula’s mother, Ruby, lived with Alzheimer’s and had passed away from the disease several years before.
Both she and Gary provided for her care until her death. After taking that caregiving course, they actively taught the same program to other caregivers in Los Alamos, Española and in their home town of Nambé.
