Employees and eligible contractors who are fully vaccinated by Sept. 3, 2021, will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck sponsored and funded privately by Los Alamos National Laboratory’s operator, Triad National Security. No taxpayer dollars were used to purchase the truck.

HSD Eliminates Burdensome Requirement For Low-Income Seniors To Get Help Paying For Medicare

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) announced it has eliminated a burdensome requirement that made it difficult for low-income seniors to get help paying for Medicare.

The previous requirement meant low-income individuals could not have assets or resources, such as a home or savings account, with a value exceeding $9,360 for an individual or $14,800 for a couple. Emergency SNAP Benefit Extension Continues Through July

SANTA FE — New Mexico households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits will continue to receive the maximum amount for their household size for the month of July, the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) announced.

“We understand how critical these emergency benefits are to New Mexican families,” HSD Deputy Secretary Angela Medrano said. “These benefits assist in feeding many families throughout the state.”

Vax 2 The Max $1 Million Drawing: Four Winners July 2

SANTA FE — The state of New Mexico’s Vax 2 the Max Sweepstakes, a $10 million total cash sweepstakes funded by federal stimulus and intended to incentivize COVID-19 vaccinations, produced its next four prize winners last Friday afternoon. 

With $1 million at stake, four vaccinated New Mexicans – one from each public health region of the state – are each prospective winners of $250,000, as drawn at random by the New Mexico Lottery.

DOH Changes COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard Reporting

DOH News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today changes to its COVID-19 vaccine dashboard.

Beginning today, the state will report vaccinations based on the 18+ population. County-based totals will also be based on the 18+ population.

Vaccinations among the 12-17 population will appear on the dashboard as well.

The state had previously used a 16+ age grouping to report vaccinations, as well as a separate category for 12-15.
