SANTA FE — Dr. Tracie Collins, who has served as New Mexico health secretary for eight months, will return to academic life at the end of July.

Collins last fall accepted Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s request that she serve the state in an official capacity and lead the Department of Health through a perilous and challenging portion of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the understanding she might elect to return to her previous career as an academic after operationalizing and overseeing the agency’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials have announced 87 new COVID-19 cases today.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains at 538 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

Champions Of Youth Ambitions Continues Fundraiser In Support Of Nambe Pharmacy Efforts During Pandemic

Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) continues the goal of raising $1,000 to recognize Nambe Pharmacy for its COVID-19 work. Shown here are Nambe Pharmacy owners Frances and Tom Lovett. The Nambe Pharmacy locations in Los Alamos and Santa Fe provided more than 14,000 vaccines since January. As of Sunday, $231 has been raised for the recognition project. County: Face Coverings Required To Board And Ride Atomic City Transit Through Sept. 13

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will continue to require through Sept. 13 “Face Coverings” to board and ride Act buses.

In compliance TSA Emergency Mandate EA 1546-21-01A face coverings for nonvaccinated and those already vaccinated will be required.

Informational flyers have been placed on each bus and at bus stop locations.

SANTA FE – Having met Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s goal of 60 percent of eligible residents completing their COVID-19 vaccination series, the state of New Mexico will enjoy the removal of remaining pandemic occupancy restrictions Thursday on commercial and day-to-day activities, including the color-coded county-by-county system.

The State’s Aging and Long-Term Services Department has issued new reopening guidance for Senior Centers and Adult Day Care facilities to aid in their plans to open their doors after 15 months of virtual and limited activities.
