New Mexico Delegation Announces Over $3 Million For Tribal Communities To Address Opioid Use Disorder

ALBUQUERQUE — U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), and U.S. Representatives Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.), Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.), and Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.) are announcing $3,068,909 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to Tribal communities to serve individuals with opioid use disorder and co-occurring substance use disorders by funding culturally specific and evidence-based treatment, including medication for the treatment of opioid use disorder (MOUD).

Los Alamos Houses Of Worship Form New Interfaith Coalition On Homelessness

In recent months, a new interfaith group has been formed in Los Alamos County, with the goal of significantly reducing the high levels of homelessness in the Española area over the coming years. Indian Affairs Budget Prioritizes Services For Native Communities

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department (IAD) proposed budget focuses on expanding staff recruitment and training to better serve the state’s Native communities. The $5.6 million proposal includes a $583,800 boost for staffing needs.

The Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) has hired Brandi Weiss as a new Anchorum Fellow Program Manager dedicated to community health and wellness. Los Alamos County Health Council Extends Health Care Quality And Accessibility Survey To Non-Residents

The Los Alamos County Health Council recently conducted a Health Care Quality and Accessibility survey of county residents that closed in early October. As the next phase of the project, the Health Council is extending the survey to non-residents.

The purpose is to collect information from individuals who work, worship, or otherwise spend significant time in Los Alamos and use Los Alamos County health-related services. 

The survey closes this Friday, Oct. 25.
