LAFC News:

Los Alamos Family Council (LAFC) invites the community to its monthly dinner and movie fundraiser Tuesday, Sept. 10, which includes frito pie and a movie at SALA Event Center.

On the Second Tuesday of every month, LAFC hosts a dinner and a movie fundraiser, with proceeds going to support its programs at the Counseling Center and the Youth Activity Centers.

Make the Second Tuesday Movie Night a monthly night on the town!

Dinner will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. The movie will start at 6 p.m.

Los Luceros Historic Site (LLHS) offers extended hours from sunrise to sunset on the first Sunday of each month, including guided bird walks at 7 a.m. by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC).

There will be a special performance at 1 p.m., Sept. 1 by Rosalia Pacheco who presents La Llorona, the Wailing Woman. This famous ghost from Spanish folklore is known throughout the world for her eerie, spine-chilling cries as she searches for her lost drowned loved ones, her darling children.

Tourism To Bandelier National Monument In 2023 Contributes $18,607,000 To Local Economy

BANDELIER News:

A new National Park Service report shows that 199,501 visitors to Bandelier National Monument in 2023 spent $14,257,000 in communities near the park. That spending supported 188 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $18,607,000.

“I’m so proud that our parks and the stories we tell make a lasting impact on more than 300 million visitors a year,” National Park Service Director Chuck Sams said. “And I’m just as proud to see those visitors making positive impacts of their own, by supporting local economies and jobs in every state in the country.” Read More

Schulz; Book, music, and lyrics by Clark Gesner; Additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. Directed by Christine McHugh.
