Annual Fort Union Days Event June 8-9, 2024

WATROUS: Fort Union National Monument announces its annual Fort Union Days Event to be held Saturday, June 8 and Sunday June 9, 2024.

The event days run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are free to the public. The event will feature an 1800s military encampment, living historians portraying soldier and civilian life and historic weapon demonstrations highlighting the period of the 1850s to 1890s.

The two formal presentations are about 90-minutes long with seating available:

In a partnership with the Martha Liebert Public Library in Bernalillo, Coronado Historic Site is offering a new “Ranger Read and Learn” storytime that is free and open to all ages 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, at Martha Liebert Public Library, 124 Calle Malinche.

At Ranger Read and Learn, a ranger from Coronado Historic Site will read a story and offer related conversation and activities. The Los Alamos Historical Society has announced its upcoming lecture, a free event 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 in the Pajarito Room at Fuller Lodge. This marks the last lecture of the series. The Society thanks the community for its support and looks forward to gathering again next season.

Prior to the lecture, the Historical Society will host its annual Meeting of the Members 6-6:30 p.m., followed 6:30-7 p.m. by the History Day Awards and 7-9 p.m. with the Nancy Bartlit and Dr. John Hopkin’s lecture.
