Christian Science Society To Host Free Talk March 9

Hello friends. It’s been over 20 years since the Christian Science Society in Los Alamos hosted a talk on Christian Science for the community. That changes at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9.

We hope you’ll join us for “Moving past fear – to healing” – a talk by Lisa Troseth at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Lisa has spoken to groups around the world and is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher. She’s also a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

LAPD Releases Details Of Accident On Truck Route

LAPD News:

          • A 44-year-old male from Santa Fe succumbed to his injuries.

This morning, Feb. 27, 2024, the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) responded to a 9-1-1 call received by the LAPD Consolidated Dispatch Center reporting a three-car accident on N.M. 501/East Jemez Road (Truck Route) near mile marker 7.

LAPD officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later at 7:27 a.m., followed by Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD). Police officers closed the Truck Route for several hours for accident response, clean-up and investigation efforts.

Update: The Truck Route will be shut down for several hours to the severity of this accident and investigation.

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is responding to a multi-vehicle accident on the Truck Route.

This has caused the Truck Route to be shut down.

Motorists are asked to please be patient as this will cause delays and seek alternate routes.

Meeting For LAMS 8th Graders Attending Annual Spring Break In Washington D.C. Trip

There will be a meeting for this year’s 8th grade students who are attending the annual spring break trip to Washington, D.C.

The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, after school in the Los Alamos Middle School library (the MC). There will be an additional meeting at 3 p.m. March 22. Parents are encouraged to attend both meetings.

It is not too late to sign up for this year’s trip but time is running out!

Sign up information for next year’s trip will be available at both meetings. Seventh grade students should drop by the library March 1 or March 22 to get the sign up information.
