I was meeting some people who had had a recent death in the family recently, and in the conversation they spoke both about the various virtues and quirks of the deceased—of the kindnesses of which they had been the fortunate recipients, and also chuckling about the quirky things that drove some of them nuts at times. Toby weighs about 1,200 pounds and stands 6 feet tall at her shoulder. She learned how to sign for more food by putting her paws together in front of her chest. Toby has a brother Balloo, her brother Lucky died in 2017. Her mother died from ingesting  plastic bags she found in a garbage can. Toby lives at Fortress of the Bear rescue center in Sitka, Alaska. Sewer Work On Rover In White Rock Begins Aug. 7

From Cartwright’s Plumbing Heating and Cooling:

Cartwright’s Plumbing Heating and Cooling plans to be in the area of 537 Rover Blvd. in White Rock to perform sewer work beginning Monday Aug. 7 through Aug. 11. The planned work schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

This work will require the closure of lanes and breaking up the asphalt and excavating. There will be street signage and a flagging operation to direct traffic during the duration of the job.
