CYFD Updates Nondiscrimination Policy For All Youth

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD) announced a new directive to help better support LGBTQIA+ youth in care.

The nondiscrimination policy is the most inclusive and robust the Department has followed to date.

“We know LGBTQIA+ youth are underrepresented in the child welfare system, and unfortunately are still shunned by family members at an alarming rate just because of sexual orientation or other factors,” Secretary Brian Blalock said. “As an agency, we want to send the clear message that we support all of our youth. County/LAHP Home Renewal Program Cycle 5 Opens July 1

Los Alamos County’s Community Development Department and the Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) have announced that Cycle 5 of the Home Renewal Program opens July 1.

Residents who income qualify and require financial assistance to make repairs or improvements to their homes are encouraged to apply for this subsidized loan program. Homeowners are not required to make payments unless the home is sold or vacated.

North Central Regional Transit District Blue Buses Holiday Closure July 3; RTD 255 Mountain Trail To Operate

The North Central Regional Transit District’s RTD Blue Buses will not be in service Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The exception will be the 255 Mountain Trail to the Santa Fe National Forest, which will be in operation that day.

Saturday, July 4, the 255 Mountain Trail and the weekend 305 Taos Express will be in service.
