Southern living continues as the theme for the Los Alamos Mountaineers’ March presentation. Following February’s presentation of a trip to Antarctica, March features a talk on a trek to the high volcanic peaks of Ecuador in a travel tale told by Kelly Gallagher and Don Krier.

The presentation is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Fuller Lodge. The talk follows the business portion of the Mountaineer’s meeting, which begins at 7 p.m.

Auctions Will Help Fund Mexico Mission Trip

This weekend, the organizers of the Mexico Mission Trip are hoping others will open their hearts and wallets to help them volunteer even more.

The United Church of Los Alamos and the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos will embark on their annual spring break trip to benefit three families in Mexico next month.

First United Methodist Church Presents Date Night Challenge

The Date Night Challenge Event at Los Alamos First United Methodist Church will be full of laughs, great food, and encouragement, organizers said. The program, produced and prerecorded by Focus on the Family, helps couples focus on improving their relationship through dating in their marriage. 

The prerecorded program includes host Susie Larson, the comedy of Dennis Swanberg, the teaching of Pastor Ted Cunningham, inspiration from Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley, and popular Christian musical artists such as Matthew West and Laura Story.

Adult Religious Exploration Mini-Course Offered

An Adult Religious Exploration Mini-Course will be 6:30-9 p.m., after Evensong Worship at 6 p.m. on the third Friday of each month (March 21, April 18 and May 16) at the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos,1738 N. Sage St.

The class will explore Israelite, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian temples and comparative myth and ritual. The course is led by James Carroll. Carroll has a doctorate in computer science. He minored in ancient Near East history and has taught in the Ancient Scripture Dept. at Brigham Young University.
