Ingredients:

4 oz. fresh basil leaves, stems removed and cleaned

2.25 oz pine nuts

6-8 cloves of garlic

½ cup (or more) olive oil

1/3 cup Parmesan/Romano cheese

A morning fire destroyed the chapel of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church at 112 East Road in Los Alamos last July 4. 

The blaze left a burned out shell of a building. One firefighter was injured battling the flames that had traveled up into the building’s rafters.

There were unusual circumstances surrounding the fire and a state fire marshal was called in to investigate the cause.

Jewish Communities of NNM Present Yom Limmud

The Jewish communities of Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Taos will convene from 1-4:30 p.m. March 10 at St. John’s College for Yom Limmud: A Day of Jewish Learning, Arts and Culture.

The celebration will begin with a keynote by visiting scholar Dr. Alan Morinis, “Change Yourself, Change the World: The Jewish Spiritual Tradition of Mussar.”

Each attendee will have the opportunity to choose two workshops from a number of offerings.

The afternoon will include refreshments and socializing. Tickets are $12 in advance or $18 at the door.
