Passover, glazed donuts and graduate school do not mix well. This is a fact that I encountered, for five consecutive years, when I was a graduate student working on my doctoral degree.

Church of Christ to Host Women’s Mini-Conference

CHURCH OF CHRIST News:

“Wrapped in God’s Love” is the theme for the county-wide mini-conference, “Women-to-Women Brunch and More.”

The mini-conference, which seeks to connect Los Alamos women with each other and with God, will take place 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 23, at the Los Alamos Church of Christ, 2323 Diamond Dr.

The morning of Christian fellowship, encouragement and strengthening is open to all women of the community.

Ingredients:

 
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter(softened)
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and ginger
1/2 teaspoon clove1/4 teaspoon salt
White Sugar for dipping
