Travel To A Magical World With LALT’s Production Of ‘The Neverending Story’ Opening Friday Night

Los Alamos Little Theatre’s latest production “The Neverending Story” opens 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Performing Arts Center.
 
The production is produced by Elisa Enriquez and directed by seasoned director Mimi Adams. Something special about this show is that 10 percent of profits will be donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico, Adams said.

Stephen Redfield, violin; and Jeffrey Smith, viola; will join Los Alamos Arts Council for a special performance at noon Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the Pajarito Room of Fuller Lodge. This lovely violin/viola duo comes to Los Alamos from Santa Fe and will play pieces by Michael Hayden and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
 
The pieces have a very interesting history. Michael Haydn, the younger (and at the time, well-known) brother of Franz Joseph, was commissioned to write a set of six duos.

Central Avenue was awash with more than 1,300 pumpkin carvers attempting to break the Guinness World Record for simultaneous pumpkin carving Saturday, Oct. 26 in the heart of downtown Los Alamos. The Los Alamos Arts Council sponsored the activity.

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Desert Chorale Board President Patricia Stanley has announced the appointment of Emma M. Marzen as executive director, effective Jan. 16, 2020.
 
Marzen succeeds Janice L. Mayer who has served as the Chorale’s executive director since June of 2015. The Board of Directors said it is deeply grateful for Mayer’s leadership and dedication to SFDC over the past five years.

LACF Announces Creation Of Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Endowment Fund

The Los Alamos Community Foundation announces the creation of the Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Endowment Fund to financially help support the lecture series held annually by the Los Alamos Arts Council.

“To honor the many contributions Rosalie made to life in Los Alamos, most especially in music, I created the Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Fund,” Rosalie’s husband Leon Heller said. “Its purpose is to help finance the lecture series with the same name held under the auspices of the Los Alamos Arts Council.”
