Sage Concert Series Presents Albert Laszlo And Patricia Wood

The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos Sage Concert Series presents Santa Fe musicians Albert Laszlo, double bass, and Patricia Wood, piano, for its summer concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9.

 

The program will include works by J. S. Bach-Marcello, L. v. Beethoven, Pablo de Sarasate, D. Shostakovich, Issac Albeniz and Fritz Kreisler.  All transcriptions for piano and double bass are by Laszlo.

 

Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

Taos To Host Multiple Music Acts This Summer

TAOS The Town of Taos is hosting a variety of musical performances this summer as part of a town-wide effort to promote music in northern New Mexico.
 
The various concerts, festivals and events that are sponsored by multiple organizations throughout Taos began in May and run through September.
 
Michael Franti & Spearhead and The Original Wailers will perform at 5 p.m., June 9, at Kit Carson Park.
 
Additionally, a free 4th of July concert presented by the Town of Taos is set at Kit Carson park where Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members and R&B/funk legends

Zia Credit Union Presents Annual Music Festival

For the third consecutive year, Zia Credit Union is celebrating the start of summer by hosting the Summer Music Fest. The event, which honors Northern New Mexico’s public safety heroes, takes place  5-10 p.m. on Friday, June 15 at the Plaza de Española at 706 E. Bond St., Española.

Designed to highlight the credit union’s commitment to community and collaboration, the music festival is also sponsored by KYBR – Real Country 92.9 FM, KDCE- ¿Que Dice? Radio, the City of Española, and the Española Valley Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free, and the event is open to the general public. Read More

Taos Opera Institute Festival Returns To Northern New Mexico June 7-30

TAOS The Taos Opera Institute (TOI) will host the 11th Taos Opera Institute Festival this year, June 7-30.
 
The festival will feature two performance groups, the TOI Singers and the Cantos de Taos Quartet performing 19 free classical music performances in Taos County, Los Alamos and Santa Fe.
 
These events are free and open to the public.
 
Cantos de Taos will open the festival in Taos on June 7 at Medley with an outdoor patio performance.

High School Students Tour Santa Fe Opera Campus

Area high school students had the privilege of touring the Santa Fe Opera campus Tuesday. They were given an extensive behind-the-scenes tour that included the costume department (including a sneak preview of the costumes for Candide), the props department, and the practice rooms. This was followed by lunch on the patio at SFO’s cantina and a concluding tour of the lower practice studios and rehearsal theaters. The students will attend a performance of Dr. Atomic in August.
