It’s rockabilly weekend in Las Vegas, Nev.! The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly extravaganza is the biggest rockabilly event in the U.S.
Front man DK Warner and drummer David Fellenz of the Los Alamos band DK and the Affordables will be joining Phil Rocker on stage at the Orleons Hotel 9:45-10:30 p.m., Sunday as Phil Rocker and the Bad Boys of Boomtown. A Los Alamos favorite and Taos native Max Gomez returns Saturday, April 8 to play Fuller Lodge.
Gomez is fresh off a European tour and comes ready to share tunes of his forthcoming album, due out this spring. The album is his second and has been long anticipated by his fans. Gomez’s debut album, Rule the World, was released in 2013.

Local piano virtuoso Juanita Lash Madland will present a piano concert for the Arts Council Brown Bag series at noon April 5 in Fuller Lodge. Included will be compositions by J.S. Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann, Ginastera, and an original piece by the pianist. This concert also will be presented in May in Minneapolis.
