A traveling jazz master, Greg Abate returns to Ashley Pond at 7 p.m. today.

Greg plays around about 225 shows a year, all over the world. He’s been dubbed the “Prince of bebop” by the Washington Post and is one of the top saxophonists in the world. His music is mostly bebop and modern jazz fusion; the sound made famous by his early influences, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Paul Desmond.

Tuesdays at the Pond continues tonight with the Craig Martin Experience under the pavillion at Ashley Pond Park.

CME celebrates the start of summer with a night of upbeat jazz at the Pond. Two hours of funky, swinging jazz from the septet including jazz classics and original tunes by band members. The concert begins at 7  p.m. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner and enjoys some great music!

Documentary ‘Muscle Shoals’ Airs At Library Monday

Mesa Public Library will show the music documentary Muscle Shoals at 6 p.m. Monday, June 20 in the Upstairs Meeting Rooms. The film is rated PG.
