Sangre de Cristo Chorale Marks Season 35

The Sangre de Cristo Chorale is celebrating its 35 anniversary and capping the season with its Spring 2013 Concert, titled “Celebrating Our Past, Present and Future.” 

The Los Alamos performance is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road.

The public is invited to the last of four Student Musicales presented yearly by Los Alamos Music Teachers Association at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos campus in Building 2.

There will be snacks provided by the students and teacher Frances Naffziger will provide punch, which she has done for years.

Rumelia is returning to the Pyramid Café, 751 Central Park Square, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

The band has an enthusiastic local following, including Los Alamos folk dancers, who add their talents to the evening. There is a $10 cover and children are free.

Pajarito Spanish Dance Alliance will present the third annual Fiesta Primavera at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21 in the Pajarito Room of historic Fuller Lodge. 

This year’s theme, “La Poesía del Baile” or “The Poetry of the Dance” focuses on the poetry of flamenco music and how it is interpreted by the dance.

Guitarist Michael Chapdelaine does not settle for fitting into one music category. His music spreads over classical music and pop tunes and catches the attention of everyone from teenagers to adults.

Chapdelaine is a musician, a composer and teacher. This multi-talented artist has come to Los Alamos in the past and Chapdelaine will again perform here at 7:30 p.m., April 26 at Fuller Lodge.

Local chamber chorus Coro de Cámara has announced the selection of it new artistic director.

Andrew Alegria will debut his first concert with the group at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19 at Hill Episcopal Church in Los Alamos and 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Church of the Holy Faith in Santa Fe.
