Pajarito Mountain Beer and Band Resumes Saturday

The popular Pajarito Mountain Beer and Band is back! The next event will be held noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area.

The beer will be offered by the Santa Fe Brewing Company and from 3-5 p.m., the Squash Blossom Boys from Albuquerque will provide the music.

Atomic City Transit is providing a new bus service to Pajarito Mountain with the last bus going down Saturday at 5:20 p.m. so people can enjoy the show and get a ride home.

Free Piano Recital by Beau Gerard Sunday

LOS ALAMOS FRIENDS News:

This is the final in a series of Beau Gerard’s Piano Recitals and Compositions hosted by Los Alamos Friends. Gerard is back from the first round of eliminations for America’s Got Talent and is expected to make it to round II. 

Gerard will play his compositions on his Yamaha Grand Conservatory Piano in his living room at 3711 Trinity Ave. in Los Alamos, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3. The event is free.

Brown Bag Concert Features Lads of Enchantment; Hot Flashes Two Piano Quartet

The Los Alamos Arts Council will present The Lads of Enchantment Chorus and The Hot Flashes Two Piano Quartet at the February Brown Bag concert.

The concert will begin at noon Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Pajarito Room at Fuller Lodge. The Brown Bag Series is free and open to the public.

Jazz Night came back to the Blue Window Bistro Saturday night when a full house enjoyed the Tom Rheam Trio from Santa Fe.

The Blue Window is a great place to hear jazz. The lights are low, the space is intimate and the conversations are muted during the music.

The Los Alamos piano trio of Brian Newman, violin; Shanalyn Kemme, cello; and Cindy Little, piano is returning to Music on Barcelona at 5:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25.

Music on Barcelona is the last Friday of the month musicale at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe, 107 West Barcelona Road.

The Newman-Kemme-Little Trio appeared there last February, performing a Shostakovich trio. Today they will perform Joaquin Turina’s Piano Trio No. 1.

Seventeen Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT) students and nine staff and parents from Los Alamos traveled to Atlanta, Ga., over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend to attend the 2013 Junior Theater Festival (JTF) and brought home the gold.
