Residents should call ahead before venturing out to any meetings or events today and tomorrow because there have been many cancelations around the community.
 
The Los Alamos High School Athletics Department issued the following cancelations:
  • High school wrestling at Capital canceled on Saturday.
  • Mid school wrestling canceled at Las Vegas on Saturday.
  • Boys varsity basketball will not play today or tomorrow in Academy tournament.
  • Girls spent the night and will play tomorrow.
  • Mid school girls basketball tournament is canceled today and tomorrow.

Topper Band to Perform at Disneyland

The Los Alamos High School Topper Band has been selected to perform at Disneyland in a coveted spot in the “Mainstreet USA” parade on Sunday, April 7, 2013, Director of Bands Zane Meek said.

Bands are selected by audition to perform in the parade. Additionally, the band will be working with Disney musicians and clinicians in a “Soundtrack Session” where they will learn what it is to record a music track for a movie scene.

LAHS Students Tapped for All State Concert Ensembles

Seventeen Los Alamos High School band students have been selected for participation or as alternates for the 2013 All State Concert Ensembles.

Some 1,000 entrants from around the state competed to perform at the all-state clinic and conference in Albuquerque Jan. 9-12, 2013.

Community Winds Holiday Prism Concert Sheds Light on Local Talent

The Los Alamos Community Winds started a new holiday tradition last year with the Community Holiday Prism Concert.

This year, the second annual Holiday Prism Concert will take place directly after the Holiday Lights Parade at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec 8 at the Crossroads Bible Church. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.

The Winds have invited a number of local musicians to perform with them at this concert.
