Farolitos, Pueblo Music & Dance At Lights Of Gisewa

Celebrate New Mexico Traditions during Jemez Historic Site’s annual holiday event, Lights of Gisewa in Jemez Springs, 5-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14. The remains of Gisewa Pueblo and San José de los Jemez Mission will be decorated with hundreds of farolitos illuminating the site and creating a beautiful path for visitors to stroll along while also enjoying music and dance performances.

Six young musicians from Los Alamos and Santa Fe were awarded top prizes at two state-level competitions hosted by the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico (PMTNM) on Saturday Nov. 9. These competitions are an annual event and were held this year at Keller Hall, in UNM-Albuquerque.

Coronado Historic Site will host a concert with New Mexico Latin band, Son Como Son, as they perform their lively music in the outdoor Diane Schuler Educational Pavilion.

SALA Event Center is again hosting “The Genizaro Experience: Shadows in Light” filmmaker Gary Medina Cook Nov. 3. He will be accompanied by Grammy-award winning musician Bill Miller, whose song, “Visions” is featured in the film.
