The Taos Chamber Music Group presents its annual Holiday Season Festival of two different programs in three performances with “The Classical Piano” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, and “Holiday Jeux” 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10., all at the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos.

The Los Alamos Concert Association (LACA) will present eminent pianist Sir Stephen Hough in recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.

The first classical pianist to be awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, he was awarded a Knighthood for Services to Music in the Queen’s Birthday honors in 2022.

Pianists Host Afternoon Concert In Santa Fe Today

Pianists Natasha Stojanovska and Chenxing Huang will take the stage at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 5 at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe, 208 Grant Ave.

Stojanovska and Huang are familiar performers in Los Alamos. Stojanovska is a former resident but still teaches local students and Huang performed Wednesday in Fuller Lodge as part of the Los Alamos Arts Council’s Brown Bag Series.

Sunday’s concert will feature pieces by Mozart, Brahms, Dvoȓák, Debussy and Khachaturian.

Erin Cook, a sixth grade teacher at Mountain Elementary School, started a GoFundMe to support Mountain Elementary music teacher Galina Austin, whose husband unexpectedly passed away Thursday.

“We would like to help Gala and her children with whatever they might need in this devastating time,” Cook said. “Mrs. Austin has a teenage boy who is still in the LAPS school district and other adult children.”

Pianist Chenxing Huang To Perform Nov. 1 At Fuller Lodge

LAAC News:

The Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) has announced pianist Chenxing Huang for the Daytime Performance Series concert noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the Pajarito Room of Fuller Lodge.

LAAC hosts a concert on the first Wednesday of every month featuring a curated slate of musicians, performers and speakers. These are free to the public and all ages are welcome.

Chenxing will play several pieces in the hour-long concert including compositions by Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt and modern composer Zhao Zhang.
