Community Winds Fall Celebration Concert Saturday Oct. 14

The Los Alamos Community Winds (LACW) will present its Fall Celebration Concert 7 p.m. Saturday,  Oct. 14 p.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church at 97 East Road in Los Alamos.

The varied concert program will feature Charles Ives’ Variations on America, Ottorino Respighi’s La Boutique Fanasque, and Paul Creston’s Celebration Overture, along with five other selections.

Admission to the concert is free. A donation at the door of $10 per guest is suggested.

Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra welcomes guest conductor William Waag to the podium for the opening concert of its 2023-24 season at 7 p.m. Oct. 7, at Crossroads Bible Church.  

Following the concert, a reception will be provided in the lobby.  

The program Waag has chosen for this concert begins with the Overture to Nabucco, the work that solidified Giuseppe Verdi’s career as an opera composer in 1842. SANTA FE — The Sangre de Cristo Chorale opens its 46th Season with a concert 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church in Santa Fe.
