FBI: Arizona Man Pleads Guilty To Travel With Intent To Engage In Illicit Conduct

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced today that Jonathan John James pleaded guilty to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

James, 58, of Tsaile, Arizona, will remain on conditions of release pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

FBI: Crownpoint Man Pleads Guilty To Firearm Offenses

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced Wednesday that Derrick Cook pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Cook, 28, of Crownpoint, New Mexico, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, will remain in custody which has not been scheduled.

Six Overdose Calls In One Week Result In Four Deaths In Los Alamos County

LAPD News:

Los Alamos Police and Fire have responded to six unrelated calls at separate Los Alamos residences over the last week related to unresponsive patients due to potential overdoses.

Of those six cases, four Los Alamos residents have died. They ranged in age from 27 to 56 (two male and two female).

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) suspects the deaths are overdoses related to either pain medication or illicit drugs. LAPD also has confirmed Fentanyl was recovered at the scene of one of these deaths.

LAS CRUCES — The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico is calling for transparency and an impartial investigation after Border Patrol agents fatally shot a man in the state.

FBI: Torres Pleads Guilty To Second Degree Murder

ALBUQUERQUE – Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge

of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced today that Malcom Torres has pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

Torres, 29, of Española will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

LAPD To Host ‘Drug Take Back Day’ Saturday April 22

On Saturday, April 22, the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) will be conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day. This event will begin at 10 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m.

The drop off location will be in the north parking lot (off Central Avenue) of the LAPD.

Items that have not been accepted in the past include:

  • Needles/sharps;
  • Liquids or creams; and
  • Aerosols/compressed medications.

For this event:

  • LAPD will have supplies available for people to dispose of their liquids, creams and aerosols on site, and a sharps container available to drop off injectable medications.
