FBI: Two Zuni Men Charged With Assault In Indian Country

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, has announced that Christopher Hannaweeke Sr. and Christopher Hannaweeke Jr. made an initial appearance in federal court facing a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Indian Country.

Hannaweeke Sr., 48, and Hannaweeke Jr., 29, of Zuni, New Mexico, and enrolled members of the Pueblo of Zuni, remained detained pending a preliminary hearing held Feb. 16.

NM State Police Sergeant Charged With Sexual Assault

LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Feb. 12, 2023, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP)  learned of an investigation being completed by the Las Vegas Police Department in reference to allegations of a sexual assault involving NMSP Sgt. Kevin Keiner.

Immediately after being informed of the investigation, NMSP Police Chief Tim Johnson placed Sgt. Keiner on administrative leave and launched an internal investigation.

FBI: Albuquerque Man Wanted On Federal Firearms And Drug-Trafficking Charges

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Elliott Estevan Peralta of Albuquerque, who is wanted on federal firearms and drug-trafficking charges.

In early November 2022, the FBI Violent Gang Task Force in Albuquerque executed a search warrant at Peralta’s residence and found two firearms, approximately 1,099 grams of methamphetamine, and 105 grams of blue “M 30” pills containing fentanyl.

At the time, Peralta escaped the residence and eluded capture.

LAPD Investigates Five Catalytic Converter Thefts

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is investigating five catalytic converter theft cases and one attempted catalytic converter theft since Feb. 2.

Los Alamos police were called to investigate several catalytic converter thefts in Los Alamos and White Rock during the last 10 days.

The catalytic converters are being cut from the undercarriage of the vehicles. The suspect(s) appear to be targeting vehicles in the daytime hours and the suspect is using a reciprocating saw.

Española – The following information is for the distribution of a Missing Endangered Runaway Advisory from the Española Police Department.

The Española Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Ingrid Moreno-Cortez, a 17-year-old female who is 5’10”, 180 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair.
