NMSP Missing Juvenile: Jared Salazar Of Española

NMSP News:

ESPAÑOLA – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) seeks public assistance locating Jared Salazar, 17, of Española. 

Salazar is 5’07” tall, weighing 130 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair. 

He was last seen on private drive 1518 in Española at 1:30 a.m. March 5. He left on foot wearing a t-shirt, light blue jeans, socks and no shoes. His destination is not known.

New Mexico State Police Arrest Roswell Man Charged With Shooting At Off Duty State Police Officer’s Residence

ROSWELL – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was called to investigate a drive-by shooting Feb. 27 at the home of an off-duty NMSP officer.

Investigations Bureau agents learned that the officer was at home with his family when multiple gunshots struck his residence at around 9 p.m. Fortunately, he was able to get his family to safety.

New Mexico State Police Arrest School Counselor Darren Wade Powell Wanted For Crime Against Child In Virginia

TULAROSA — New Mexico State Police (NMSP) have arrested Darren Wade Powell, 52, of La Luz, N.M. on a felony warrant issued by the Albemarle County Police Department in Virginia for criminal sexual penetration of a minor.

The investigation began Feb. 23, when the NMSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) was contacted by the Tularosa Police Department (TPD). TPD told NMSP they had reason to believe that a counselor with the Tularosa Public Schools had a felony warrant out of Virginia.

FBI Offers Reward For Swoosh & Sack Stealer Responsible For Albuquerque Credit Union Robbery

The FBI and Albuquerque Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the Swoosh and Sack Stealer, who robbed Nusenda Credit Union, 7517 Montgomery Boulevard NE, Monday, Feb. 27.

At approximately 2:36 p.m., an unknown male walked into the credit union and presented a demand note to a teller.

The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and was seen running north from the credit union.

FBI: Man Charged With Domestic Assault In Indian Country

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, has announced that Steven Williams was charged by complaint with assault with a deadly weapon and assault by strangulation.

Williams, 28, of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, appeared in federal court today for a detention hearing and will remain in custody pending trial, which has not yet been scheduled.

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols; and registration, insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during March 2023.

Los Alamos Police Make Drug Arrest Involving Fentanyl

The Los Alamos Police (LAPD) Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 19-year-old Eric Greene today, Feb. 22 with a no bond arrest warrant.

Officers also served a search warrant at Greene’s residence in White Rock. 

After a months-long investigation, Greene was arrested on several felonies, which include:

  • Two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance;
  • One count of Controlled Substance Distribution Prohibited; and
  • One count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
