Tonya Males Charged With Larceny

Tonya Males of Espanola has been charged with larceny, a fourth degree felony in connection with the alleged theft of $900 while cleaning the home of a client of P&L Housekeeping.

June 27, Los Alamos Police Cpl. Gabriel Nieto was dispatched to a home on Grand Canyon Drive where the victim said she was missing money, which had been in an envelope in a bedroom dresser and claimed Males was the only person who had access to the bedroom besides herself.

SANTA FE – First Judicial District Attorney Marco P. Serna has formed the first officer involved shooting review panel in the First Judicial District. The decedent from the April 29 shooting is Andrew Lucero and the officer involved is Leonard Guzman.

The panel will include five district attorneys from around the state and the Administrative Office of the District Attorneys (AODA) will coordinate logistics, obtain and distribute evidence to the members for review.

Ryan A. Roller of Los Alamos has been charged with false imprisonment, battery and battery against a household member as a result of a July 19 incident at an address on 39th Street.

Mark S. Purtill, 62, of Los Alamos is facing a pretrial hearing Aug. 24 before Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados on charges of battery against a household member and interference with communications. Purtill was arrested following a June 20 domestic disturbance at a 46th Street address.

Warrant Issued For LANL Copper Thief

A warrant was issued July 13 for Joshua J. Montoya, 23, of Espanola by First Judicial District Judge T. Glenn Ellington after probation officials in Espanola indicated he failed to report to them after his conditional discharge May 24.

Montoya was originally arrested in July 2016 for stealing large amounts of copper from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Los Alamos Police Department and LANL officials confirmed with an Espanola company that it had purchased 2,709 pounds of copper and brass from Montoya and that he had been paid $3,474.

Jose Mascarenas, 41, of San Juan Pueblo is scheduled July 27 for a preliminary hearing in Los Alamos Magistrate Court on charges of shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance.
