FBI: Roswell Man Sentenced To 12 Years For Federal Drug Trafficking Conviction

ALBUQUERQUE  Joseph Ray Mendiola, 36, of Roswell, was sentenced in Federal Court in Las Cruces, to 144 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for his conviction on cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking charges. Mendiola was also ordered to forfeit 14 firearms and ammunition.

Elijah Meason Placed On Probation

Elijah Meason, 27, of Los Alamos pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized use or theft of the card of another and two counts of forgery July 17 in First Judicial District Court before Judge T. Glenn Ellington.

Meason was granted a conditional discharge, placed on three years of supervised probation and ordered to pay restitution of $839.58 to the victim. He is allowed no contact with the victim and is required to complete the Drug Court program.

FBI: Convicted Sex Offender From Albuquerque Sentenced To Ten Years For Child Pornography

ALBUQUERQUE  Randal Gordon Paul, 48, of Albuquerque, was sentenced July 25 in federal court to 120 months in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for his conviction on a federal child pornography charge.
 
Paul also was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution to victims of Paul’s criminal conduct. Paul will be required to register as a sex offender when he completes his prison sentence.

In a joint statement today, Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone and Fire Chief Troy Hughes encouraged the community to support the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges blood drive.

The drive is at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall, 3700 Canyon Road in Los Alamos:

  • Noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3; and
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

County To Conduct Functional Exercise Thursday
