Jan. 30 at 2:02 p.m. / Police arrested James Reagan, 49, of Los Alamos at 1900 Diamond Dr., and charged him with driving on a suspended or revoked license. 

Jan. 31 at 2:52 p.m. / A 32-year-old Los Alamos woman reported that she was the victim of identity theft on Trinity Drive. The estimated loss is unknown.

The State issued an order Tuesday to stop a Los Alamos resident from selling unauthorized securities to senior citizens and retirees in an illegal scheme.

The New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department’s Securities Division issued the cease and desist order against Jerome Griggs Beery who sold securities totaling more than $200,000 to mostly retirees and senior citizens in Los Alamos, in violation of state law.

Police Caution Motorists to Slow Down and Leave Plenty of Space Between Vehicles!

This morning, there was a two-car accident on Diamond Drive between Conoco Hill and the Los Alamos Baptist Church. Minor injuries were reported in that accident.

An eyewitness reported that early Wednesday evening he saw a motorist slide into the vehicle in front, bounce off and slam into the guardrail on the Omega Bridge. Minor injuries also were reported in that accident.

Los Alamos Chief of Police Dino Sgambellone released calls for service and crime statistics for 2013, compiled by the Records Division of the Los Alamos Police Department.

Offenses reported as crime statistics are determined by the FBI Uniform Crime Report Program and are classified as crimes against persons (violent crime) and crimes against property. Motorcycle Accident Sends Riders to Hospital

A motorcycle driven by a Los Alamos man crashed into a guardrail Saturday evening sending him and his passenger to area hospitals.

According to the police report, Michael McNiel, 37, was driving his 2001 blue Yamaha westbound at 5:35 p.m. on Canyon Road just west of 15th Street and going down grade.

McNiel told police that the rear wheel seemed to slip and he lost control of his motorcycle. The motorcycle hit a guardrail and slid westbound, stopping in the eastbound lane with damage to the vehicle.
