Motorist Crashes Through Fence On Diamond Drive

A car broke through a fence near the cliff’s edge on Diamond Drive just south of the Pueblo Complex this morning. Witnesses report that the driver ‘blacked out’ and drifted from the south bound lane, crossing north bound, jumping a sidewalk and crashing through the canyon fence. Couple Killed In Wednesday Crash Had Newborn

Authorities say the couple killed early Wednesday in a crash on N.M. 68 north of Española were the Alcalde parents of a newborn.

Marissa Martinez, 19, gave birth just two weeks ago. She was driving the 2007 Mazda when it crashed into a flatbed. The impact decapitated Martinez and Eric Romero, the 21-year-old father of her baby.

Two Die in Early Morning Collision with Flatbed

POLICE NEWS:

A man and woman died early this morning after their vehicle collided with a flatbed on N.M. 68.

Authorities identified the victims as Marissa Martinez, 19, and her boyfriend Eric Romero, 21, both from Alcalde.

Martinez was driving and according to Española Public Safety Director Eric Garcia, her vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed along N.M. 68 about 8:15 a.m. when the flatbed carrying a backhoe entered the roadway on the north side of Española.

Breaking News:

Los Alamos Police in conjunction with agents from the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office executed a search warrant this morning on a home in Los Alamos in relation to reported child pornography activities.

Det. Sgt. Oliver Morris told the Los Alamos Daily Post a few moments ago that his department is working two cases involving the “sexual exploitation of a child.”

New Mexico Implements Expanded Amber Alert and New Silver Alert Program

SANTA FE Gov. Susana Martinez has announced the implementation of the expanded Amber Alert parameters and the new Silver Alert Program for New Mexico.

The governor stated that both tools will help law enforcement and case workers keep vulnerable children and seniors safer.
