Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities contract workers excavating dirt in the Los Alamos Canyon Resevoir Thursday afternoon picked up a military ordnance in their front loader. They didn’t realize they had the volatile device until they were unloading the dirt in Bayo Canyon near the old sewer plant. Members of the Los Alamos Bomb Squad, police and firefighters responded to the scene. Local Woman Reports Man Tied Her Up Near College

Los Alamos police charged a Los Alamos woman overnight with making false claims and they have issued her a summons to appear in court.
Genevieve M. Salas, 20, told police that a tall Hispanic man in a dark hoodie jumped out of nowhere and threw her over his shoulder as she approached her car in the UNM-LA parking lot around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.

On Saturday evening, Jan. 25, Pinon Elementary School was “tagged” by vandals. The graffiti consisted of a number of vulgar and inappropriate words and phrases.
