SANTA FE — New Mexico State Police officers continued to work hard in the month of January in Santa Fe.

The month of January for State Police officers stationed in Santa Fe was successful. Officers were proactive in keeping the citizens of Santa Fe safe both on the road and in the communities.

Breakdown of their work:  

  • 15 DWI arrests
  • 5 stolen vehicles recovered
  • 19 felony arrests
  • 10 misdemeanor arrests
  • 13 crashes investigated
  • 742 traffic stops
  • 426 citations issued

New Mexico State Police Arrest Carjacker In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE — At around 9 a.m., Jan. 24, 2024, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Auto Theft agents with the Crime Suppression Bureau were looking for a vehicle that had been stolen during an armed carjacking the night before.

The suspect was later identified as Benjamin Robert Marquez, 31, of Albuquerque.

FBI: Two Albuquerque Men Charged With 2023 Crime Spree

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced that James Adam Metts and Demetrius Antonnie Bailey have been charged in relation to a summer 2023 crime spree.

Bailey, 40, of Albuquerque, previously appeared in federal court on an indictment charging him with one count of interference with commerce by robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
