Public Meeting Highlights Forest And Resilient Landscapes Monitoring Programs For April

JEMEZ SPRINGS — The National Park Service, Valles Caldera National Preserve and the USDA Forest Service, Santa Fe National Forest are hosting the 2016 “All Hands” public meeting for the Southwest Jemez Mountains Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration & Resilient Landscapes Program.
 
The meeting is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 7 and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, in the Jemez Rooms of the Santa Fe Community College in Santa Fe. The public is invited to attend both days of meetings.

Bandelier Picnic Area Paving Begins Early April

BANDELIER News:

Visitors driving into Frijoles Canyon in Bandelier National Monument should expect brief road closures or delays during the week of April 4-8 while the park re-paves parking areas near the Visitor Center.

During the week there will be days when flaggers will be coordinating visitor traffic and the large trucks carrying hot mix for paving, followed by days when the traffic  will also include heavy equipment  paving a short piece of new road connecting to the entrance road. State Museums; Historic Sites Closed Easter Sunday

The four state museums in Santa Fe, the New Mexico Museum of Art and New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governor’s both located on the Plaza, and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and the Museum of International Folk Art both located on Museum Hill, will be closed Easter Sunday.
 
The museums will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29.

Egg Splash At Aquatic Center Saturday

AQUATIC CENTER News:

This Saturday, March 26, will be a fun-filled day at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center with warm water, floating eggs and great prizes. 

This is an annual event for the community, and children up to 16 years of age are encouraged to participate. The event begins promptly at 1 p.m. with the youngest age group. The cost is $2.50 for each participant (16 years and younger).
