Valles Caldera Turkey Hunt Lottery Now Open

Hunters can enter the 2015 Valles Caldera Trust lottery for a chance to hunt Merriam turkeys on the Valles Caldera National Preserve.

The 2015 hunt will be the ninth since the Preserve was established in 2000 and the second since the one ticket, per hunter, per hunt lottery was established last year in order to offer turkey hunts to a wider range of applicants.

Eight hunt authorizations will be issued for the two hunts scheduled for May 2-4 and May 8-10.

Each applicant will be limited to one ticket per hunt code but can apply to both hunts. Read More

The Los Alamos Fencing Club hosted an end-of-season epee tournament for the YMCA Advanced Fencing class this week.
 
The finishers include:
  • Wesley Terrones (Gold medal);
  • Dana Urbatsch  (Silver medal);
  • Mady Anderson;
  • Paige Power; and
  • Aiden Monteith.
