Come join the Barranca Mesa Pool for a summer of outdoor fun and entertainment. The season starts Memorial Day weekend and goes all the way through Labor Day weekend.

In addition to listed activities, the park movie is shown on request every day and there are ranger-guided tours on the first section of the Main Loop Trail throughout the week as staffing permits. All activities are weather permitting.

Jemez Springs – Nightlife and new activities highlight the attractions at the Valles Caldera National Preserve this summer. It all begins this weekend with the Family Fun & Games Campfire Program and Summer Twilight events.
Once a month Preserve hours of operation will extend to as late as 10 p.m. so visitors can enjoy the Preserve after dark. The Family Fun & Games Campfire program will provide free stories, games and activities for children of all ages.

Tad Hughes Top Predictor in Pace Race Tuesday

Tad Hughes had the best prediction in Tuesday’s pace race, with a delta time adjusted to 3 miles of 7 seconds.
The annual staggered-start pace-race/fun-run was held Tuesday on the White Rock bike path. The predictors with the slowest times started first from Piñon/Rocket Park. The ones with the fastest times (Heather Bjorklund and Tad Hughes for 1 mile, Ted Romero and Katie Gattikier for 3 miles) started last.

Bandelier Seeking Public Review of Environmental Assessment Project

The National Park Service (NPS) is asking for public review input of their Environmental Assessment (EA) for the project “Replace Frijoles Canyon Section of Primary and Secondary Electrical Systems” at Bandelier National Monument.
The project’s purpose project is to provide the monument with reliable electrical systems that comply with county and federal regulations, can be readily serviced, and are inconspicuous on the landscape.

Future of Pajarito Mountain Ski Area Decided Tonight

Members of the Los Alamos Ski Club (LASC) will vote on the future of the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area at 6 p.m. today at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, 3900 Trinity Dr.
Following a discussion period, the club will vote on a proposal to transfer all land and assets of the Ski Area to the Los Alamos County and the Sipapu Group who between them would then own, operate and invest in Pajarito Mountain.
