Friday the 13th was truly a hard and trying day for them as they responded to the death of an infant in that early morning. It is time to sign up for the Los Alamos Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Arts & Craft Fair, Saturday, Dec. 9, in the Parish Hall at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Canyon Road in Los Alamos.

Set up is 8-9 a.m. and shopping is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables/Spaces are $35 each and include 8-foot tables with two chairs.

Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase. The menu is to be determined.

The Las Vegas shooting, of course, dominated the news this week, as tragedies often do. Remembering that massacre, it’s timely that the Gospel that we read at our Catholic Mass this weekend is the parable of the vineyard owner and the rebellious tenants (Matthew 21:33-43). Items Needed For IHM Homeless Bags

Parishioners at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church are preparing another set of bags for the homeless to be distributed in surrounding towns and cities where needed.

They will begin filling the bags at 10 a.m. Sunday in the parish hall.

The following items are still needed for the bags and can be dropped off Sunday morning at the parish hall:

  • Handwarmers
  • Socks
  • Small packets of baby wipes
  • Travel size deodorant, shampoo, soap, floss, lotion and toothpaste
