Los Alamos Swimmers Participate In 2023 US Master Swimming Spring National Championship In California

Mountain Club Swimming News:

The 2023 USMS Spring National Championship was held April 27-30 at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, Calif.

There were nearly 2,500 swimmers who participated in this annual event. Participants had to be registered Masters swimmers and at least 18 years of age.

‘Toppers Will Be On The Road In First Round Of State

The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball team, despite finishing 15 games above .500, drew only a No. 9 seed and will have to travel this weekend to face an old rival, Albuquerque Academy.

Los Alamos will face Academy in a best-of-three series starting Friday and continuing through Saturday.

This will be the third, fourth and possibly fifth time the teams face off this season. Academy won both the previous matchups in 2023, clubbing Los Alamos in the first game, 11-1, but just holding off Los Alamos in the second meeting, 6-4.

LA Takes On Bloomfield In First Round Of Softball Playoffs

Los Alamos’ softball team earned the No. 5 seed and will face off against 12th-seeded Bloomfield in the first round of the Class 4A state championships.

The Hilltoppers will face the Bloomfield Bobcats at 4 p.m. Friday. That game will be played at Pojoaque Valley High School in Jacona, with the winner going into the main tournament next week.
