Gear Up For Sunday’s Annual Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk & Turkey Trot

More than 100 runners and walkers will begin a symbolic circuit on North Mesa, from the middle school to the stables and back, with the motto, “We walk because they walk” at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Millions of people around the world do not have water or food resources close at hand and must walk, sometimes miles a day, to bring nourishment to their families. They walk, so we walk in solidarity with them.

The bipartisan package of bills would prioritize recreation on federal lands and reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund

Los Alamos Hockey Association with Los Alamos County will hold Try Hockey for Free 4:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink.

This is a chance for youth of all ages to try hockey on for size.

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers opened their season this past weekend with a meet in Santa Fe.
 
High scorer of the day was Chantel Biebeault with 37.60. She took first place in the silver junior division. Second place went to Anika Lovato with 35.50 and third was Deeanna Foster with 34.085.
 
In the silver children’s division, Danielle Trellue took first with 35.55, Colette Biebeault was second with 34.95, and third place was Alexandra Simakov with 31.70.

LAHS Hilltoppers Swimmers Compete At Barney Relays In Albuquerque

SPORTS News:
The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers swimming team competed in the 34th Annual Barney Relays Nov. 14 at Albuquerque Academy.
The girls finished second with 148 points among the 9 teams in the competition, only 8 points behind host Albuquerque Academy. The boys finished third with 108 points, narrowly behind Cleveland in second, and winner Academy.
The Hilltoppers won 6 of the 17 relays. The 4 x 100 Mixed Freestyle Relay team broke the Barney Relays record by over 4 seconds with a superb 3:31.31.
