The 43rd Annual Tour de Los Alamos Bicycle Race took place Sunday morning, July 12.

The race began on Trinity Drive in downtown Los Alamos with eight different start times, depending on the category of racer. A car led each race group in a neutral parade that traveled over the Diamond Drive bridge toward Los Alamos National Laboratory. Once through the Laboratory VAP, the race began at Casa Grande Drive, when the lead vehicle left the group of racers.

Watch out for bicyclists on local streets as the 43rd Annual Tour de Los Alamos Bicycle Race begins downtown with racers leaving in waves from 8:10 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. today.

The racers will do a loop(s) going up Jemez Road to the T-intersection with N.M. 4, take a left onto N.M. 4 past Bandelier, through White Rock, and back up Jemez.

The Los Alamos Triathlon is almost here.

The horn will blow at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 and racers will begin their bike-swim-run journey to the finish line.

The Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and  Open Space Division invites all people interested in participating to sign up for the race at the Walkup Aquatic Center or online at active.com.

Rock n’ Roll EnduroFest Rolls Into Town Aug. 8-9

The premier Los Alamos Rock n’ Roll EnduroFest will test the endurance and skill of the best mountain bike riders in the Southwest Aug. 8 and 9, with discounted early bird registration now through July 18.

This year’s event has been scheduled the second week of August to become an official leg of the New Mexico Enduro Cup Series. Enduro racing consists mostly of downhill racing, but with an endurance element.

Sophia Pieck Top Predictor / 1st Place One Mile Finisher In Weekly Pace Race

Sophia Pieck, 8, was the top predictor at 6 seconds off her predicted time as well as the fastest finisher on the one mile course with a time of 9:02 in the weekly pace race held on the trail at the Ponderosa Campground in the Bandelier National Monument. 
 
Other accurate predictors were Katie Gattiker with a 7 second differential, Duane Marr at 15 seconds off, and Martin Pieck recording a 21 second difference.
