County Shares Golf Course Review Update For 2025 Season

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County staff have been monitoring the golf course and as published, performed a review of the course on April 14, to provide better clarity and to ensure optimal conditions for play.

The updated schedule reflects changes in course availability and ongoing preparations.

Updated opening dates and details:

  • The practice range and main putting green will remain open. These areas will be available to golfers for practice.

This last week saw unseasonably warm temperatures with several cities throughout the state setting records for daily high temperatures, including Santa Fe and Albuquerque. It was a toasty 97 degrees in Roswell.

Streamflows around the state showed some dramatic increases due to melting snow.

However, streamflow in the Rio Grande is low. The streamflow at Cerro near the Colorado border was just 117 cubic-feet-per second. This indicates that they are already irrigating crops in Colorado’s San Luis Valley.

Second Online Survey Opens For Community Input On Ice Rink Shade Structure Project

COUNTY News:

The Public Works Capital Projects & Facilities Division invites residents to participate in a second online survey to collect feedback on a potential shade structure for the Los Alamos County Ice Rink. This feedback will help inform the decision-making process regarding improvements to the outdoor rink. The survey is open to the public from April 10-24 (14 days).

Between Jan. 9-29, 2025, an initial survey for this study solicited broad input from the community regarding a shade structure for the Ice Rink. Results of that survey can be viewed on the project web page under “Completed Read More
