Organizations Merge To Form Los Alamos County Little League Baseball & Girls Softball

The Los Alamos and White Rock Little League organizations have merged to form Los Alamos County Little League Baseball & Girls Softball.

Los Alamos League President James Chrobocinski is now president of the Los Alamos County Little League and White Rock League President Jason Martines is vice president.

Registration to play this season begins Feb. 15 at www.lalittleleague.org. This year’s Opening Ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m., April 25 at the North Mesa Ball Fields.

LAHS Swimmers Earn Several Wins At APS Year End Invitational Saturday

The Los Alamos High School swimming teams earned top scores at the APS Year End Invitational Saturday at West Mesa High School in Albuquerque.

The Hilltoppers won the boys team title over Albuquerque High by a 525 to 435 count, while the girls got second to the state champ Eldorado Eagles, 641-508.

The meet was a last tune-up before the Hilltoppers host the District I Swimming and Diving Championships at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center Friday and Saturday. Read More

2015 Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Competition At Griffith Gymnasium Sunday

All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

The local competition is 1-3 p.m. Sunday in Griffith Gymnasium at Los Alamos High School.

Registration is free of charge and will be held onsite beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the date of the event. Parental consent is required, so a parent/guardian must be present during registration. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation and winners from each age division and gender will be presented with a trophy.
